Dancing for her audience

I LOVE to dance. I lived for Swing nights (Wednesday nights at the MC) during college, LOVED taking Ballroom and Latin classes and competing in the Viking Challengse. So when N started to "dance" I was thrilled! She would do her DDR quick feet (see past post), turn in circles, and bob her head. We finally got her on camera last night. I think the reason why she danced was because she had 6 adults praising her and laughing, so she showed us her moves. She's holding Todd's phone in this clip.

Thanks to Claire & Micheal, and Mercedes & Devin for entertaining our child. :D

Felt Apples

I finished these today and I'm very happy with how they turned out. I made one 2 weeks ago for a friends little girl who's first birthday was a while back. I've since decided to make two of everything felt thing I make. Unless I'm making one as a gift them I'll make 3. Reason? A set for our home and a set for Nana's home. I'm so excited to make more and in time send my mom a huge box full of fun things!
The apples have about an 11 inch circumference. I bought a pattern off of an Etsy seller but made some adjustments because I didn't like the very fist trial apple I made. (Not the one I made Brita but the apple before that one.) Plus I'm going to put two small strips of Velcro along the bottom edges to make it so they stay shut. What do you think?

Random of N

Here are some random pictures of N I thought I would post. Enjoy!
N playing in the snow. She LOVES the snow.
N on Todd's lap watching the visualizations from the music playing. She sat on his lap for over 15 minuets just staring.
She loves it when I pull my bracelets out of my jewelry box for her to play with.
Eating pasta bow ties and spaghetti sauce.
Sporting a beanie my sister Mari made me for Christmas. N pulled it out of my drawer and now wears it on and off all day.
N is obsessed with water cups and if she hasn't secretly taken off with one to "drink" from it then she's "washing" her hands in it.
Here's a clip.

Thanks Shell!

Fiskars Pinking Shears

So I went to JoAnns today to pick up a pair of Pinking Shears because they were on sale. After a sort mix-up I picked out a pair, paid for them and took them home. As I was about to rip them open I decided to first read the Lifetime Warranty on the back. After I read it I noticed in small print a "WARNING" note at the bottom. This is what it said: "Warning: This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer birth defects and/or reproductive harm."

We KNOW this and yet we just put it in small print down at the bottom. With all the stink about lead and the new law they just passed you'd think they would throw a stink about this too, I mean it does affect children and women! I'm going to return these and write a few people...

Oh and that new law, I know so many women who are now closing their at home bow shop, Etsy or Website because although they do not use paint or plastic, all products intended for children must be tested. You have to pay for the testing and although these women do make a profit they can't afford to have everything they make tested, I think its a load. I mean yes we need to test, but I think they are targeting too many people, too many of the wrong people. I'm going to read up on it more because this effects what I'm doing too. Anyone know more or something I might be missing please let me know!

Groceries

N helped me put the groceries away today. She did such a great job!

DDR

Todd got DDR from my parents for Christmas and N always has to join in when he's got it on. So here's a clip of N learning how to use the mat.

The Pediatrician

During N's 15 month check up today Dr. J looked at Todd and I while describing N's weight and height trends and said, "Makes sense as both of you are tall and skinny." I was described as tall and skinny! He got brownie points :)

Why I'm (still) a Mormon

I don't expect much more to ever be posted on this blog, and I'm largely just posting this to share it with some particular friends....
