I was pulling out of the car port yesterday to run a random non-important errand so Todd could study at home for a little bit and as I was more then halfway down the carport to the street a neighbor who was parked in between the two buildings backed up into our car. She crushed our back right door and out went the window. N was in back but no glass got on her thank heavens. She didn't even really seem fazed by it until after I took her from the car. Todd took her to our next door neighbors to be watch so she wouldn't be around the lady who was swearing up a storm and blaming it on me. It was awful. I then proceeded with the steps oh what you should do when involved in an accident but didn't get far, I called an officer, Todd went to exchange insurance information and the lady wouldn't give us hers! She gave it to the officer but not us. Um I need it for insurance purposes......Yeah well she was in a Jeep so there was little damage to her bumper, and our car gets checked out at the shop on Monday morning. Since Utah is a no-fault state the officer couldn't tell us who was at fault, he said our insurance companies would have to decide that on their investigation.
So after talking with the insurance company yesterday and our agent today, I e-mailed the 10 photos we took of the accident and hopefully they can get this cleared up quickly and we'll get our deduction back after they conclude it wasn't our fault. Cocky? I don't think so, I honestly believe it was not my fault.Just a case of she didn't see me already behind her and when she was backing out to back out of the driveway she hit me, happens. Now lets just get it taken care of. Shout out Thanks to all the neighbors who helped sweep up the glass!
Here's our poor car after the hit :(
