Easter II

I was hoping to get another picture of N wearing the bunny ears but it didn't happen, as soon as I got them on, she had them off. So this is the best I could.
But as cute as N is in bunny ears I wanted to touch on something that I can't believe I left out of my originally Easter post and a thanks to Marianne for the reminder in her post.
Yes, we did the Easter eggs, N got bubbles as a gift (no candy, she's wired enough) and I tried to get her in the bunny ears but Todd and I have made the decision to try and limit the whole bunny and chick concept. When we gave N her bubbles we told N what Easter was about and why we were giving her a gift. We don't mind the egg hunts or a basket of goodies but we don't want to focus on the wrong things. We want her to know that we celebrate Easter for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, to be excited about the religious part of Easter not the temporal, although we're sure she'll like eggs filled with sugar and a basket of goodies.
We're doing the same with Christmas. We want N and all future children to know that daddy works very hard to provide what they need and some of what they want, and so as a gift in the Christmas season we're giving them a bonus. We're trying to keep Christ as the focal point, it's his celebration not Santa's.

Why I'm (still) a Mormon

I don't expect much more to ever be posted on this blog, and I'm largely just posting this to share it with some particular friends....
